Voters will have several more opportunities to cast an early ballot before this month’s local-government and provincial elections.
Comox residents can vote during two advance polls over the Thanksgiving long weekend.
The Comox Community Centre will be open for voting Saturday and again Monday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Another Comox advance poll will be offered Wednesday, October 14, from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.
Wednesday will also be the final advance-voting day for the local-government elections in Campbell River, Courtenay, Cumberland and the Comox Valley’s rural electoral areas.
Campbell River residents can vote at the Sportsplex, while Courtenay’s advance poll will be held at the Florence Filberg Centre.
Cumberland voters can visit the Cultural Centre, and Comox Valley RD voters can cast their ballots at the Regional District Civic Room on Harmston Avenue.
All four locations will be open from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.
General voting day for B.C.’s local-government elections is Saturday, October 17.
The provincial campaign will also be busy next week.
The provincial leaders’ debate is scheduled for Wednesday evening, followed by a Comox Valley candidates’ forum Thursday at North Island College.
The Comox Valley forum runs from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. Admission is free, although advance registration is required.
North Island provincial candidates will meet Friday, October 16, at Campbell River’s Tidemark Theatre.
That debate runs from 7 until 9 p.m.
Advance voting in the provincial election begins October 16 and continues through October 21, ahead of final voting day on Saturday, October 24.
