Campbell River’s finances remain generally on track with the City’s approved financial plan, according to the latest quarterly report presented to Council.
The Q2 2026 Financial Report shows revenues had reached 78.7-percent of budget by the end of the second quarter, while operating expenses were at 47-percent.
The City says both figures are consistent with the same period last year.
The report also provides an update on operating and capital projects underway across Campbell River.
Of the 74 operating projects approved through the financial planning process, 62 are now underway, while five are complete or substantially complete. Seven projects have been delayed.
So far, $1.61-million has been spent on operating projects, representing 21.4-percent of the total budget.
The City has also budgeted $66.71-million for 95 capital projects in 2026.
Spending on those projects currently sits at $5.57-million, or 8.4-percent of the capital budget.
Council also approved an amendment to the City’s 2026-to-2035 Financial Plan.
The change provides an additional $144-thousand for the Official Community Plan and Zoning Bylaw Update, with the money coming from available grant funding.
The City says the quarterly financial report is intended to provide Council and the public with a regular look at its financial position and the progress being made on projects approved through the long-term financial plan.
