The 6th Street Bridge will be closed this morning for the installation of a new Welcome Pole at Simms Park.
Carved by Karver Everson, Junior Henderson and Jalen Henderson-Price, a cultural ceremony for the unveiling of the Welcome Pole will be held at a future date.
The City of Courtenay says the bridge will reopen to the public this afternoon.
