There are now at least eight fires burning out of control on Vancouver Island.
They are smaller in size - less than a hectare - and sparked by lightning, including a new one spotted yesterday in Strathcona Provincial Park.
In total, 19 fires are currently burning on the Island - most under control or being held.
That’s according to info from BC Wildfire Service.
