Work on fixing a leak within the Black Creek-Oyster Bay Water System is now complete.

Work on fixing a leak within the Black Creek-Oyster Bay Water System is now complete.

The Strathcona Regional District now says it has reverted back to Stage 2 Water Restriction, which was the previous restriction level before the water leak was identified.

Senior Manager of Water/Wastewater Services, Kris La Rose, says it took just three weeks to fix the leak, which can be very difficult to diagnose and repair, but credit goes to their team for their hard work.

La Rose is also giving kudos to water users in the Black Creek-Oyster Bay area, who followed their request and significantly reduced their water consumption during repair.

He says water consumption was down by half what it was during its peak two weeks ago.

Now that the repair has been completed, the Black Creek-Oyster Bay area has gone back to a Stage 2 Water Restriction.

During a Stage 2 Water Restriction, you're asked to stagger your lawn and garden watering with even numbered address watering on Tuesdays and Saturdays, between 6am and 8am and 8pm and 10pm.

Odd numbered addresses may water on Wednesdays and Sundays, during the same hours.

Local government may use a sprinkler to water parks, ornamental lawns, and grassed boulevards between the hours of 11 pm and 7 am on even numbered days for even numbered addresses, and odd numbered days for odd numbered addresses.
