There will be periodic partial road closures on Hilchey Road, between Dogwood Street and Island Highway South starting today, through Thursday.
Work will be happening from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Crews will be removing road markings, including bike-lane markings, along Hilchey Road and the intersection at Parkway Drive and Alder Street South. Temporary line markings will be in place until new centre lines and road markings can be reinstalled.
The work is part of the larger Hilchey Corridor Bike Lane Improvements project. Hilchey Road will temporarily be without bike lanes after the pavement markings are removed. Installation of a new two-way, separated bike lane on Hilchey Road, between Dogwood Street and Penfield Road, and completion of a neighbourhood bikeway on adjacent local streets will also start today, and is expected to be fully completed later this fall.
Single lane alternating traffic will be in effect.
