Another blast of winter with storm warnings or watches up for much of the province, including the South Coast.

Snow is expected to start Thursday night and last through Friday before it switches to rain on Saturday.

We’ll start to warm a bit Friday when temperatures finally rise above the freezing point, but before that, possible freezing rain as well.

Vancouver International Airport is halting all international arrivals for 48 hours to deal with congestion. It said yesterday that crews were able to clear runways, but delays and cancellations are expected to continue.

Toronto’s Pearson Airport is also warning of an approaching system in Ontario which could affect those needing a connection.

The Warming Centre at the Campbell River Community Centre opened its doors again Wednesday night - and will do so Thursday evening - the same story for those running warming centres in the Comox Valley.

Keeping Our Word

The word "éy7á7juuthem" means “Language of our People” and is the ancestral tongue of the Homalco, Tla’amin, Klahoose and K’ómoks First Nations, with dialectic differences in each community.

It is pronounced "eye-ya-jooth-hem."
