Town Of Comox Again Seeking Snow Angels This Year

The Town of Comox is looking for Snow Angels.

The Snow Angels pilot program attempts to match someone with an address where the resident needs help clearing snow from the public sidewalks that are adjacent to their property.

The program, launched in the fall, runs through April. It doesn’t include private walkways or driveways.

The Town says Snow Angels will get work done by 10am on any day following a snowfall event during the winter season and they do need some helpers.

You must be a Town of Comox resident at least 16 years old - or have an adult with you.

If you need help with shoveling public areas near your property, Comox residents 70 years and older, or under 70 years of age with a physical disability that does not allow the clearing of snow can sign up.

The town says Comox residents have always been quick to help out their neighbours, and the Snow Angels program formalizes a process in matching volunteers with those in need.

Keeping Our Word

The word "éy7á7juuthem" means “Language of our People” and is the ancestral tongue of the Homalco, Tla’amin, Klahoose and K’ómoks First Nations, with dialectic differences in each community.

It is pronounced "eye-ya-jooth-hem."
