Things are back to normal for residents using the Union Bay Water System.
Staff with the Comox Valley Regional District spent last week draining and cleaning the Union Bay Water System, including flushing the system twice.
The team found built-up particulate in the tank that became suspended, causing discolouration in the water. After the tank was refilled, bacteria tests were completed and the system was found to meet drinking water standards.
Officials note that the water discolouration was not a result of failure or breakthrough at the water treatment plant or due to water levels in Langley Lake.
If residents are still noticing discoloured water in their area, they're being asked to call the District office. More info can be found at https://www.comoxvalleyrd.ca/maintenance
