Drivers travelling through Comox this week are being advised to expect possible delays as survey work gets underway along Church Street.
Beginning today and continuing through Thursday, crews will be collecting information between Noel Avenue and Comox Avenue.
The topographic survey work is scheduled to take place daily from 9:30 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Space limitations could require single-lane alternating traffic at times, with traffic-control personnel stationed throughout the work area.
The Town of Comox is encouraging motorists to plan ahead, allow additional travel time and consider using an alternate route when possible. Drivers should also reduce their speed and follow all posted signs and directions from traffic-control personnel.
Transit buses and emergency vehicles will continue to have unrestricted access through the affected section of Church Street.
Regular curbside garbage collection is also expected to continue without interruption.
The survey work is being carried out with assistance from SPR Traffic Services and is scheduled to wrap up Thursday afternoon.
