The Strathcona Regional District is looking for more in-depth discussion over changes to zoning bylaws on Cortes Island.
The SRD began a process in 2017 to review and update bylaws that are in need of a refresh.
A zoning bylaw assigns regulations and zones to both land and water within a local government jurisdiction, such as Cortes Island, and specifies what kind of development and activities are permitted within each zone.
At a previous open house, the SRD said it heard a lot of great questions and they are ready to share a little more.
There’s a virtual session happening on Monday night starting at 6pm - register at SRD.CA - and there will be another in-person public meeting on March 6th (1pm at Manson’s Hall).
After these sessions, a draft bylaw will be created for discussion and presentation to the Electoral Areas Services Committee and SRD Board.
