The Village of Sayward says its water treatment plant, intake and reservoir are once again operating normally after recent issues caused by high turbidity levels.
In an update, the village confirmed the elevated turbidity seen late last week has subsided, allowing the system to return to regular operation.
Public Works staff will continue to closely monitor the water treatment plant and the Newcastle Creek intake.
The update follows a water conservation notice issued January 30th, which also washed fine materials from the Newcastle Creek landslide area into the creek.
That resulted in increased turbidity that interfered with the intake system, forcing the water treatment plant offline.
The village is thanking residents for their cooperation and continued efforts to conserve Sayward’s drinking water supplies as staff monitor conditions going forward.
