Record Low Water Inflows Persist Into Comox Lake Reservoir

While the fresh dump of snow will help improve water flow on the Puntledge River, and increase levels in the Comox Lake Reservoir, BC Hydro says it won’t be enough to make up for historic lows.

Neither the Puntledge nor the Comox Reservoir have seen water levels this low heading into December - and the Campbell River Reservoir hasn’t been this low since 1984.

The forecast is looking dry for the next week or so - as such, the Puntledge River flow rate will be reduced even further.

A snowpack is about 25-percent of what is considered normal for this time of year.
