The provincial government is asking families, child care operators and early childhood educators to help shape the future of child care in British Columbia.
A new online survey has been launched to gather feedback on the child care system and identify priorities for future improvements. The survey will be available until July 9.
The Province says it is looking for input on how child care services are working for families and how the system can continue to evolve.
The consultation follows Budget 2026, which included an additional $330 million for ChildCareBC programs and services.
Government officials say the feedback will help guide future decisions as the province continues to expand and strengthen child care programs.
The public consultation follows a virtual town hall held May 20 for early childhood educators and child care providers.
More than 300 people attended the online session to provide feedback and ask questions about the future of child care in B.C.
Since the launch of ChildCareBC in 2018, the Province says nearly 59 thousand new child care spaces have opened across British Columbia, with another 12 thousand funded spaces currently under development.
The government also says families using more than 97 percent of licensed child care spaces are saving an average of $7,200 per child each year through reduced fees.
