The Comox Valley Project Watershed Society will hold its Annual General Meeting on Saturday, July 18.
The meeting runs from 10:30 a.m. until noon in the Comox Valley Regional District Civic Room on Harmston Avenue in Courtenay, with a virtual attendance option also available.
The society will provide updates on several projects, including the completion of restoration work at Kus-kus-sum, where the removal of a steel retaining wall reconnected the site to the K'ómoks Estuary.
Other presentations will cover coastal habitat restoration, watershed monitoring, youth education programs, and ongoing forage fish research.
Project Watershed's Forage Fish Research Manager, Jacqueline Huard, will deliver the keynote presentation, highlighting eight years of research into forage fish and their role in coastal ecosystems.
The meeting is open to everyone, although only society members will be able to vote.
Pre-registration is available at Project Watershed.
