Over the Thanksgiving Weekend, Comox residents had a chance to check out the new playground structure at the Town’s Elks and Royal Purple Park.
Work began a few weeks ago to remove the old play structure and replace it what the town calls "a wondrously abstract play structure that gives kids the sense of playing in the treetops and exploring a forest canopy branch by branch."
The unique built-in canopies provide for some shade while children play.
Parks Manager Robbie Nall says there is a great range of interconnected activities that will spark the imagination and provide for energetic play, and on a safer surface. Engineered Wood Fiber (EWF) cedar shavings allows for natural, sustainable, and safe play, while providing access for strollers and walkers.
