Comox Valley residents are being invited to learn more about cohousing during a pair of events marking National Cohousing Day in early May.
Cohousing is described as a modern version of village life, where residents live in private homes clustered around shared spaces used for meals, gatherings and other activities, creating an intentional and supportive community.
Vancouver Island is home to five cohousing communities, including one in Courtenay, with three more currently under development.
A second project is also being planned for Courtenay.
Residents can explore the concept during events May 2nd and 3rd at the common building at Creekside Commons on Lambert Drive.
Organizers say the weekend is family-friendly and children are welcome to attend all activities.
