Wildfire officials meeting with others from Public Safety Canada, BC Emergency Management, and the Canadian military today to discuss next steps in the wildfire situation in the province.

Hundreds of fires continue to burn in British Columbia - the number currently sitting at about 380, with more than 70 evacuation alerts in place.

A couple of reconnaissance teams from the armed forces were deployed yesterday and it's expected we’ll learn more about the work today.

Meanwhile, another firefighter has been killed battling blazes, the latest in the Northwest Territories, just outside the BC border.

Last week, 19 year old Devyn Gale died on the job. She was struck by a falling tree in Revelstoke.

BC Wildfire Service posted a tribute, saying Gale personified the attributes of wildland firefighters; bravery, grit, hard work, determination, leadership, and selflessness.
