A Merville-based rescue and rehabilitation centre is holding its spring fundraiser to help it keep treating ill, injured, or oiled wildlife.

MARS Wildlife Rescue Centre opened its doors in 1995.

A busy wildlife rehabilitation and education facility, they treat over 1000 animals per year, including raptors, waterfowl, songbirds, raccoons, and fawns.

Their Spring 50/50 draw is underway - with a goal of selling $20 thousand in tickets - $10k going to the winner.

The draw will be made at 11:00am on Sunday, March 31st at the Visitor Centre located at 1331 Williams Beach Road.

MARS is a charitable organization with a mission to “conserve and protect native wildlife and its natural habitat through education and rehabilitation.”

The centre teaches about wildlife issues through lectures, displays, workshops, reports and publications, to contribute to the knowledge and understanding of wildlife by participating in research and sharing that information with various wildlife organizations to conserve and protect wildlife and promote the conservation of wildlife habitat.

Tickets are $10 each, 4 for $20, 20 for $50, or $100 for 100 and as of this writing the jackpot was up to $9,680.

Tickets can be purchased online at MARS Wildlife Rescue Centre.
