Aircraft from 4 Wing Cold Lake will be conducting training in the vicinity of Comox and various locations on Vancouver Island for the next week.

The CF-18 Hornets will be operating out of 19 Wing Comox and heading to the west coast of Vancouver Island. Most of the training will take place offshore and will include low level flying.

The Airforce says routine training exercises like this are essential to ensure that pilots and crews are prepared to respond quickly and effectively to a range of missions, including defending Canadian airspace, supporting NORAD commitments, and assisting in domestic and international operations.

According to a release, the activities are carefully planned and closely controlled to ensure public safety while minimizing disruption wherever possible.
