Halloween In Raven Country

There is a lot to do in the area this Halloween, aside from the trick or treating Tuesday night.

Habitat for Humanity has a haunted house fundraiser tonight in support of construction of affordable housing for North Island residents.

The doors are open at 461 Hilchey Road in Campbell River from 6pm to 9pm - with a suggested donation of $5 per person. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

The LINC Youth Centre is hosting its Haunted House again - from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Admission is $2/person or $5/family.

The haunted house is planned and run by youth aged 8 - 18 in The LINC’s ‘Ghoul School’ with support from staff. Over 15 local youth have been busy since September preparing for the event.

They chose the theme, made the sets and props, and are set to play characters in the Haunted House.

The annual Courtenay Halloween Parade and Party, put on by Courtenay Recreation in partnership with the Downtown Courtenay Business Improvement Association, is also a go.

The free event is at the Lewis Centre and in Downtown Courtenay from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.

It starts in Downtown Courtenay with a Trick or Treat Parade at downtown businesses on 4th, 5th and 6th streets, after which you can make your way to the Lewis Centre for the party.

The Campbell River Fire Department is throwing its support behind the annual Halloween Fireworks event, sponsored by the Willow Point Firefighters Association.

It gets underway at 8 p.m. at the Sportsplex.
