Thursday is the first official day of spring.
The March equinox began at 8:01am this morning.
In the Northern Hemisphere, the spring equinox occurs when the Sun crosses the equator line, heading north in the sky.
After today, the Northern Hemisphere begins to be tilted more toward the Sun, resulting in increasing daylight hours and warming temperatures.
That means getting the gardens ready. Seedy Saturday is happening this weekend at the Campbell River Community Centre. Residents can meet seed vendors, buy plants, or make a craft with the kids.
Whether you are a first-timer or an expert seed saver, the City says there will be something for everyone.
Admission to the event is free and it runs from 9am to 1pm on Saturday.
