The Strathcona Regional District is encouraging residents and visitors to get outside and discover some of the region's parks, trails and waterfront spaces through a new social media campaign.
The SRD manages more than 50 parks and more than 40 kilometres of trails across the region, along with beach accesses, community parks, boat launches, wharves and other recreational areas.
The district is also promoting its Parks and Facilities Directory, an interactive resource designed to help people find local outdoor destinations and amenities.
More information is available at Parks & Facilities Directory.
The SRD is also launching "Wandering Wednesdays," a weekly feature on its Facebook and Instagram pages.
Every Wednesday, the campaign will highlight parks, trails, beach accesses, boat launches and other hidden gems throughout the region, giving residents ideas for their next outdoor adventure.
You can follow the campaign on Facebook or on Instagram.
The regional district is also reminding outdoor enthusiasts to respect private property while exploring.
Some parks and trails border privately owned land, and visitors are asked to stay on designated routes, obey posted signs and avoid trespassing.
Officials say the campaign is aimed at helping people discover recreational opportunities close to home while protecting the natural spaces that make the region unique.
