Courtenay City Council and Senior Staff participated in anti-racism and decolonization training this week.
This training came from a resolution passed by the previous Council and will be included in Council orientation going forward.
The City of Courtenay says it wants to meaningfully respond to and commit to both dialogue and action to address racism and inequities in the community, transitioning from an Inclusive Community to an Anti-Racist City.
It says the goal of becoming an Anti-Racist City will be woven into Council’s Strategic Planning process.
