The Comox Valley Regional District is working to investigate and identify the cause of a water quality issue being experienced by some residents connected to the Union Bay Water System.

The district says it's a top priority for the water department and they intend to have the issue fully dealt with as soon as possible.

All water sample results indicate that the water is safe to drink.

The water pressure changes some residents may be experiencing is due to the reservoir being lowered to 50% capacity as a way to prepare for draining, inspection and cleaning of the reservoir today.

In preparation for that, the team is programming a by-pass scenario and getting all the necessary materials ready in support of the drain and flush.
