Comox Valley Chamber of Commerce CEO To Resign This Summer

Comox Valley Chamber of Commerce CEO Dianne Hawkins has submitted her resignation to the Board of Directors, effective August 31, 2022.

The Comox Valley Chamber of Commerce CEO Dianne Hawkins has submitted her resignation to the Board of Directors, effective August 31, 2022.

A lifetime Vancouver Island resident, Dianne led businesses and not-for-profits through relationship building, program innovation, and advocacy at all levels of government.

Dianne’s leadership was most evident as the key spokesperson and liaison for Chamber members, sponsors, community stakeholders, and members of the media. At the outset of the pandemic, Dianne and her team pivoted the Chamber’s operations in response to ever-changing concerns and needs in the business community and was skillfully leading the Chamber into a post-pandemic recovery period.

In her capacity as CEO, Dianne has served as board member of the North Island College Foundation. She has served on the BC Chamber Executive (BCCE) Board of Directors as Director, and President (2009-2010). Dianne participated on the Advisory Committee of the City of Courtenay’s Official Community Plan and the Mayor’s Economic Recovery Task Force Committee. Dianne has been involved with various community organizations too numerous to list here and is well known and loved by many in the Comox Valley.

Dianne has been nominated twice by her peers and staff for the Canadian Chamber Executive of the Year Award in recognition of her leadership.

Dianne is looking forward to having some time with her family before embarking on new opportunities and adventures.

The Comox Valley Chamber of Commerce has yet to name a replacement for Hawkins but are expected to in the near future.
