Fort St. John has been placed under evacuation alert.
The alert was issued yesterday as the fire grew to 130 square kilometres in size.
The City’s 21-thousand residents - all of them - have been told to get ready to leave quickly, if necessary.
There are currently more than 50 active fires in the province, while more than 17-thousand people remain out of their homes due to fires in neighbouring Alberta.
Meanwhile, flooding is causing issues in much of the eastern part of BC, with high streamflow advisories continuing due to the unseasonable heat wave quickly melting the mountain snowpack.
The BC River Forecast Centre has advisories out from the southern Interior to the Kootenays and north to the Peace Region along the Alberta border.
