The City of Campbell River would like community members to ride bikes to the Farmer's Market this weekend.
The city is installing temporary bike lanes on Highway 19A, between the Maritime Heritage Centre and the traffic signal at St. Ann’s Road, on Sunday, August 28.
The waterside parking lane will become a two-way bike lane with temporary traffic markers installed, similar to the bike lanes on Canada Day.
The bike lane will connect the existing bike lane on Highway 19A to the south and bring cyclists more safely downtown.
Vehicle parking is still available downtown, including on the west side of Highway 19A, at the Maritime Heritage Centre, and the 3.5-acre site, as well as many smaller lots and on-street parking.
