The BC government continues its work to lure American health care professionals to British Columbia.
A branded B.C. health-careers coffee truck has been giving out free coffee to doctors, nurses and allied health professionals in Seattle this week, as part of targeted marketing in the U.S.
Health Minister Josie Osborne says engaging directly with health-care workers in Seattle over a cup of coffee is a way for them to connect and highlight the many benefits of working in BC.
The coffee truck was located close to health-care facilities.
The Province says targeting Seattle was essential because of significant interest since the government first launched the marketing campaign earlier this month, targeting Washington, Oregon and some cities in California.
Since the announcement of the coordinated recruitment campaign in March, the Province says more than 1,600 people have expressed interest in moving to BC, including 714 doctors and 554 nurses.
