You’ll be hearing the familiar sound of Salvation Army bells ringing outside BC Liquor Stores this holiday season after all.
The BC Liquor Distribution Branch has reversed a decision that would have kept the Salvation Army from setting up outside liquor stores.
Last week, the branch had said two other groups had applied to fundraise outside stores and it didn’t want to overwhelm patrons with too many requests for charity.
That didn't sit well with most, and the branch now says it will allow the kettle campaign to go ahead.
The Sally Ann says it is hoping to support as many as 2.6 million Canadians this holiday season - with a goal of raising about $22-million through the campaign.
