The port strike is back on.
“Our position since day one has been to protect our jurisdiction and this position has not changed,” a statement from the union reads.
The International Longshore and Warehouse Union Canada said yesterday that employers had not addressed the cost of living issues faced by workers in the last few years.
The union represents about 7,400 workers who were previously on strike from July 1 to 13.
They went back to work last week after the tentative, mediated deal was reached.
Government officials are expected to discuss next steps later Wednesday.
