The Vancouver Island Down Syndrome Society is inviting the community to come together next month for an awareness walk and family picnic in Campbell River.
It’s taking place on Saturday, June 13th at Robert Ostler Park, running from 10:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Organizers say the day will include an awareness walk, picnic, and opportunities for families, friends, and community members to show support for individuals with Down syndrome while celebrating inclusion and community connection.
There will also be 50/50 draws and face painting.
This year’s event will also coincide with the annual Kite Flying Day at the same location, creating what organizers expect will be a lively and family-friendly atmosphere with strong community participation.
The Vancouver Island Down Syndrome Society says the event is open to everyone and is aimed at raising awareness while bringing people together in support of a more inclusive community.
To register, email info@vidownsyndrome.ca or call 250-230-7665.
