Friday, July 24th, the BC Salmon Farmers Association will host a Community Appreciation BBQ at Robert Ostler Park in Campbell River.

The association says it’s a chance to thank the communities where the salmon farming industry lives & works, while highlighting the sector's role in food security, economic development & environmental stewardship. Visitors can enjoy locally produced salmon lunches, take a virtual reality tour of a salmon farm, visit an ‘Ask Us Anything’ booth & check out a kids’ zone & photo booth. It’s from 11:30am-3:30pm, everyone’s welcome & admission’s by a suggested minimum $5 donation to the Campbell River Food Bank.

Now through September 8th, MARS, the Merville-based rescue & rehabilitation centre, is holding its annual Summer Raffle Fundraiser.

The word "éy7á7juuthem" means “Language of our People” and is the ancestral tongue of the Homalco, Tla’amin, Klahoose and K’ómoks First Nations, with dialectic differences in each community.
It is pronounced "eye-ya-jooth-hem."
