A new Angus Reid Institute poll suggests British Columbia’s provincial election remains a close race as voters prepare to cast their final ballots Saturday.
Among decided and leaning voters surveyed, the B.C. Conservatives have 46 percent support, followed by the NDP at 43 percent. The B.C. Greens sit at eight percent, while other parties account for the remaining three percent.
The institute describes the Conservative lead as a statistical tie and says the gap between the two leading parties has narrowed during the campaign.
Voter commitment could also become an important factor. The survey found 73 percent of Conservative supporters are very certain of their choice, compared with 54 percent of NDP supporters.
The online poll surveyed 793 British Columbian adults between October 15th and 19th.
Final Voting Day in B.C.’s provincial election is Saturday, October 24th, with polls open from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.
