The results are now official following Saturday’s local-government elections across Campbell River, the Comox Valley and surrounding rural communities.

A total of 22 councillors were elected across the four municipalities, with Campbell River, Courtenay and Comox each filling six council seats and Cumberland electing four councillors.

Kermit Dahl will return for another term as mayor of Campbell River. The City completed its final ballot review Wednesday and found one additional ballot, resulting in minor changes to some vote totals but no change to the candidates elected.

Courtenay will have a new mayor, with Manno Theos elected to lead the City alongside six councillors.

Nicole Minions will continue as mayor of Comox after securing another term by acclamation, while six councillors were elected to serve with her.

Cumberland Mayor Vickey Brown was also acclaimed for another term, with voters selecting four Village councillors.

In the Comox Valley RD, Arzeena Hamir was elected director of Electoral Area B and Norm McPhail won the Area C race. Daniel Arbour was acclaimed as the director for Electoral Area A.

The Strathcona RD has also confirmed Mark Vonesch’s election as the director representing Cortes Island in Electoral Area B. John Rice was elected in Electoral Area D, which includes Oyster Bay and Buttle Lake.

Complete official results, including final vote totals, are available through the respective local-government websites.
