British Columbians planning to cast an advance ballot in the provincial election have until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, to vote.
October 21, 2026, marks the final day of the six-day advance-voting period, which began October 16. Advance voting locations operating today are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. local time.
Advance voting is available to all eligible voters, who can attend any advance voting place in the province, including locations outside their own electoral district. Because some locations operate only on selected dates, voters should check their Where to Vote card or Elections BC’s online location finder before heading out.
To be eligible, voters must be Canadian citizens, be at least 18 years old on October 24, 2026, and have been residents of British Columbia since April 23, 2026.
Anyone who has not registered can still register in person when they vote, even though online and telephone registration have closed.
Voters must establish their identity and residential address. Accepted identification options include a B.C. driver’s licence or BC Identification Card. Alternatively, voters can present two accepted documents showing their name, with at least one showing their current address.
People without the required identification may be able to use Elections BC’s vouching process. The person vouching must meet eligibility requirements and provide acceptable identification, and both people must make a solemn declaration confirming the voter’s identity and residential address.
Voters are encouraged to bring their Where to Vote card if they have one, but the card is not required to cast a ballot.
Those who do not vote during advance voting can cast their ballot on Final Voting Day, Saturday, October 24, when voting places will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Pacific time.
Voting locations are available through Elections BC’s Where to Vote tool. For assistance with locations, identification or voting options, call 1-800-661-8683 or visit Elections BC.
