Friday & Saturday, January 31st & February 1st, it’s the 34th annual World Community Hybrid Film Festival at the Sid Williams Theatre in Courtenay.

The festival showcases engaging & inspiring documentaries that highlight social & environmental justice stories from Canada & around the world. This year’s Friday night feature will be ‘Incandescence’ by Velcrow Ripper & Nova Ami. Saturday will feature 5 inspiring films from 11:30am-5pm & the Saturday night feature will be ‘The 9 Lives of Barbara Dane’. The word "éy7á7juuthem" means “Language of our People” and is the ancestral tongue of the Homalco, Tla’amin, Klahoose and K’ómoks First Nations, with dialectic differences in each community.
It is pronounced "eye-ya-jooth-hem."
