Once Halloween is behind us, the Comox Community Centre will begin preparing for the holiday season with the return of its Winter Wonderland window-painting fundraiser.

Families, friends and community organizations are invited to reserve a window and work together to bring a pre-drawn seasonal scene to life.

Approximately 20 to 24 windows will be available throughout the Community Centre lobby and Multi-Purpose Hall. The templates have been created by Rebecca from Mountain Top to Beach.

Painting sessions will take place from November 12 through 18. Each registration reserves a specific window during a designated date and time slot.

Groups are encouraged to participate together, and only one person needs to register on behalf of a family, group of friends or community organization.

A minimum donation of $20 is required for each window, with participants given the option to contribute more. All money collected will support the Dawn to Dawn Action on Homelessness Society and its work within the Comox Valley.

Comox Mayor Nicole Minions said the activity gives residents an opportunity to create something cheerful for everyone visiting the Community Centre while also supporting an important local organization.

Registration opens at 6 a.m. Sunday, November 1, with windows available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Participants can register online at Town of Comox.
