Downtown Comox will welcome the holiday season later this month with the return of the Mayor’s Tree Lighting and Gather Market.

The free community celebration will take place Friday, November 27th, from 3 until 7 p.m. along Comox Avenue.

Families can expect a special appearance by Santa Claus, while fire pits placed along the avenue will provide visitors with places to warm up throughout the evening.

The Gather Market will feature artisan crafts, locally made products and other unique treasures for anyone beginning their holiday shopping.

Visitors can also participate in Seal on the Shelf by searching participating downtown businesses for a hidden harbour seal and entering for an opportunity to win prizes.

The Red Carpet Treat Trail will lead families to local shops offering seasonal treats, surprises and other festive activities.

A complete list of participating businesses will be announced closer to the celebration.

Families are encouraged to bundle up and spend the evening exploring the market, visiting downtown businesses and enjoying the community tree-lighting ceremony.

The Mayor’s Tree Lighting and Gather Market are free to attend and open to everyone.
