Things are getting a little batty at Filberg Park as the Comox attraction celebrates Bat Week with educational and family-friendly activities.
The Filberg Heritage Lodge and Park Association has partnered with the Town of Comox Parks Department to create a special display highlighting bats and their importance to the environment.
Visitors can explore the park’s Bat Library, which has been stocked with facts and activities about the lives of the nighttime creatures.
The display also includes activity sheets, stickers, a bat-themed craft and a scavenger hunt. Families can also pick up seeds to plant at home.
The activities are designed for young bat enthusiasts and anyone curious about the role bats play in maintaining healthy ecosystems.
Bat Week is observed annually from October 24 through Halloween to raise awareness about bats, the challenges they face and their environmental importance.
The display and activities will remain available at Filberg Park through Saturday, October 31.
