Some road work will be affecting traffic in Courtenay today.

Fitzgerald Avenue between 10th Street and 17th Street will be reduced to single lane alternating traffic, at times, on Wednesday, November 22, from 7:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. for grinding and paving.

Traffic control personnel will be on hand to assist commuters and emergency vehicles.

Keeping Our Word

The word "éy7á7juuthem" means “Language of our People” and is the ancestral tongue of the Homalco, Tla’amin, Klahoose and K’ómoks First Nations, with dialectic differences in each community.

It is pronounced "eye-ya-jooth-hem."
