Healthcare professionals relocating to Campbell River or arriving for temporary assignments are being invited to apply for accommodations only steps from the hospital.

The Strathcona Regional District’s Health Professionals Housing facility is now accepting rental requests from eligible healthcare workers.

Located beside Campbell River Hospital, the purpose-built facility offers 20 modern suites intended to help attract and retain healthcare professionals while making it easier for workers to find suitable accommodations close to their workplace.

Housing is available for professionals moving to Campbell River to begin permanent positions, completing healthcare placements or working in the community on short-term assignments.

The facility includes studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites, with flexible short- and long-term rental arrangements available.

Tenants can choose between furnished and partially furnished accommodations. Each suite includes in-unit laundry, while on-site parking is also available.

A limited number of pet-friendly units can accommodate healthcare workers relocating with an animal.

The housing project is intended to address one of the challenges facing healthcare recruitment in Campbell River by providing workers with a convenient place to stay while they establish themselves in the community or complete temporary assignments.

The Strathcona Regional District has also released a video tour allowing prospective tenants to explore the suites and learn what to expect before submitting an application.

Healthcare professionals can watch the tour, review rental options and submit an accommodation request at Strathcona Regional District.
