Communities in and around Campbell River and the Comox Valley are preparing for Remembrance Day ceremonies on Friday, honouring our veterans, those lost and those still with us.

In Campbell River, the day begins in Campbell River with a morning breakfast for veterans before a parade to the Cenotaph in Spirit Square.

The parade will include members of the Legion, Sea, Army, and Air cadets, along with various first responders and other groups like the Knights of Columbus.

The parade will leave the Service Canada parking lot on Alder Street, marching along 11th Avenue, also known as Veterans Way.

Marchers are expected at the Cenotaph at 10:45am before the ceremony begins.

In Courtenay, parade members will march off at 10:40am from the Legion to Jubilee Square for a ceremony with an Open House back at the Courtenay Legion after the parade has been dismissed.

Other local services include a gathering in Cumberland, and a parade and wreath laying at the Cenotaph in Comox.
