Students and staff in the region are marking Pink Shirt Day on Wednesday.

The anti-bullying awareness day, held annually on the last Wednesday in February, encourages people to wear pink as a sign of solidarity against bullying and as a commitment to kindness, respect, and inclusion.

In the Comox Valley, School District 71 has identified the day on its calendar as Anti-Bullying Day – Pink Shirt Day, with schools throughout the district recognizing the occasion.

In Campbell River, School District 72 is also observing Pink Shirt Day across its schools, reinforcing its focus on creating safe, caring, and inclusive learning environments for students.

While activities vary from school to school, both districts say the message is the same - stand together, lift each other up, and work to prevent bullying in all its forms.
