Comox Valley Schools has a new acting superintendent.
Geoff Manning has been serving as the assistant superintendent since 2019 and previously was the K-12 director of instruction with the district for two years.
The school board offered no reason for the move, saying Tom Demeo has “concluded his duties as superintendent.”
The board did thank him for his many years of service in public education, particularly during the Covid -19 pandemic.
In a release, the board says Manning is a long-time leader with Comox Valley Schools and it is confident in his leadership as they move forward.
The board says it is progressing with many important initiatives currently, such as the Framework for Enhanced Student Learning, annual budgeting process, ongoing capital projects, Feeding Futures Food Programming, and the early stages of the strategic planning process in the Comox Valley School District.
