A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for a violent offender who could be in the area.
Nanaimo RCMP say 39-year-old Clint Billy failed to comply with his release conditions.
Billy was released on parole after serving a portion of a two-year federal sentence for weapons and robbery-related offences.
He was released from custody last month and instructed to reside at a residence in Victoria, but he failed to show.
RCMP say that although Billy does not have confirmed connections to Nanaimo, police have received information indicating he may be in the area.
Billy is described as follows:
- Indigenous man
- 39 years old
- 6 feet tall
- 175 pounds
- Black hair
- Brown eyes
- Sleeve tattoo on left arm depicting Japanese demons
Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to contact the Nanaimo RCMP non‑emergency line at 250‑754‑2345, or the police jurisdiction in their area.
