Sunday, September 6th, the 18th annual Multiple Myeloma March takes place at Maffeo Sutton Park in Nanaimo.
Every day, approximately 12 Canadians are diagnosed with multiple myeloma, the 2nd most common form of blood cancer. It’s a life changing diagnosis, full of ups & downs, hospital stays, new challenges & disrupted routines. It means learning to walk through life differently, but no one should have to do it alone. The 5 km walk is a family-friendly day of hope & solidarity, as patients, families, caregivers, friends & neighbours come together, fundraising to propel research, improve care & support patient programs. Homalco 1st Nation member Alison Trenholm, who suffers from the disease, has put together a team & will take part in the walk. Her fundraising goal was $1000 & she’s passed that but would like to raise as much as she can. To support Alison or to learn more & register for the walk, visit Multiple Myeloma March.
