The City of Campbell River is working on clearing trees at the RCMP detachment on Dogwood Street. Crews are working on a new access lane and parking lot expansion.
Work began over the weekend, closing access to the trail from the nearby judo and soccer clubs on Merecroft Road and surrounding areas.
Access to the lane from Merecroft Road to the RCMP parking lot and the City Pound, the North Island 9-1-1 tower access, the Pinecrest schoolyard, the public works yard and the RCMP parking lot will be restricted while the tree falling takes place.
Access will be available for emergency vehicles.
Drivers are asked to follow all signage and traffic controls in place.
Clearing work will continue today through Friday from 8am to 5pm and the City asks the public to avoid the lane from Merecroft Road to the RCMP parking lot and the City Pound during this time.
