City of Courtenay Public Works services has begun flushing water mains within west & south Courtenay.
Flushing may cause temporary, short term pressure fluctuations, discolouration & sediment in the water reaching your home or business.
Water main flushing protects drinking water safety & quality by removing sediment that may have accumulated in the lines over time.
Residents are advised to do laundry & wash dishes outside of the flushing hours and to run cold water taps to clear discoloured water.
The work will be completed from 7:30am-4pm weekdays, now through March 24th.
The City thanks area residents and businesses for their understanding during this necessary maintenance. Commuters are reminded to drive with caution around crews and obey traffic control personnel.
