The Village of Cumberland is hosting a day-long event on Saturday, marking the 125th anniversary of its incorporation.
The day includes live music, cultural performances, lots of food, interactive art, a new exhibition at the Cumberland Museum, lantern making and more.
“Belonging 125” is meant to be a day to reflect on the path that has brought residents to today and to renew a commitment to create space in the community for past, present, and future Villagers.
A special workshop will be held for residents to learn about the work of creating a culture of belonging for Allies.
The Village says tools for contributing to a community that is rooted in decolonization & Indigenous cultural safety will be offered.
